CJP Protests: Flexing Unemployment Won’t Pay Your Bills
As a digital marketing trainer, I spend a lot of time analyzing internet trends. Right now, it’s impossible to ignore the wave of satirical political movements and viral meme parties taking over our feeds.
I understand where it comes from. The job market is tough, and the employment gap is a very real, very frustrating reality for millions of youth. But let me step out of the “trainer” role for a second and speak to you as a friend, as you Digital Didi.
Here is my honest take: Participating in viral internet outrage is not a flex.
Wearing the label of “unemployed and angry” like a badge of honor might feel good in the moment, but we have to ask ourselves:
What do we actually want to achieve?
Are we hoping for a massive political disruption that magically fixes the economy?
Historically, that’s not how careers are made.
Question whatever is going on around you. Try to understand the system. But never feel proud of something that hampers your personal growth. Venting online for 11 hours a day proves you have digital literacy, but it doesn’t give you a marketable skill.
Satire doesn’t pay the rent, and a 45-day viral trend doesn’t fix a gap in your resume.
Instead of entertaining yourself in this mess, here is how you can channel that exact same internet-savvy energy into building a portfolio that makes you immune to the market conditions everyone else is complaining about.
1. Stop Doomscrolling and Start Upskilling
If you can understand the nuances of a decentralized internet movement, you have the raw aptitude for digital operations. The problem is where you are pointing that energy.
Stop dedicating your time to building meme armies for free. Point that focus toward high-income, technical skills.
Dive deep into tracking and analytics.
Master GA4, figure out how to optimize Meta Ads, or learn the technical frameworks behind advanced SEO.
The market doesn’t care if you are frustrated; it cares if you can solve a problem.
Make yourself so technically proficient that employers and clients have no choice but to hire you.
2. Bring Dollars Inside the Country (Go Global)
One of the biggest traps young Indian professionals fall into is fighting over hyper-competitive, low-paying local gigs while complaining about the economy.
You have the internet. The borders are gone.
Your goal should be geographic arbitrage—living in India while earning in a stronger currency. Start pitching your skills on platforms like Upwork, Fiverr, or through direct outbound networking on LinkedIn.
Take on remote clients in the US, the UK, or Europe. When you manage the digital marketing for a foreign business, you bypass local employment bottlenecks entirely and inject foreign capital directly into our economy. That is how you actually disrupt the system.
3. Create Value, Not Noise
Most viral trends rely heavily on negative, self-deprecating humor.
It gets quick clicks, but it wears out its welcome fast and leaves you with a portfolio no serious brand wants to touch.
You need to build a clean, highly brand-safe portfolio. Take travel content, for example. We live in an incredibly diverse country. Focus on creating high-quality content around “Incredible India”—documenting heritage, hidden destinations, and local culture.
Positive, high-value storytelling has a massive shelf life. It positions you to collaborate with tourism boards, hospitality brands, and international audiences. It turns your digital traction into a legitimate business asset.
The Bottom Line
There is zero long-term growth in ranting in an internet subculture built on frustration.
The real flex isn’t proving how loudly you can complain about the system on Reddit or X. The real flex is building a skill set that allows you to outgrow the system entirely. Close the meme pages, open your ad accounts, and start building.
