₹25,000 Marketing Budget: How Should You Allocate It?

You have ₹25,000 to spend on marketing. Should you run ads? Hire someone for SEO? Create content? Build a website?

The honest answer: there is no universal marketing budget split. You can calculate your split using my Free Digital Marketing Budget Calculator

Your allocation should depend on your business model, current digital presence, customer journey and immediate business goal.

Here is how I would approach a ₹25,000 monthly marketing budget for a small business.

How much should be spent on SEO services for small business?

₹6,000–₹8,000

If your customers actively search for what you sell, investing in SEO services for small business can create long-term value.

This budget could cover keyword research, on-page optimisation, technical improvements, local SEO and useful content.

SEO shouldn’t mean publishing random blogs every week. The focus should be on searches that have a realistic connection to your products or services.

I’ve worked on SEO content for businesses ranging from healthcare to manufacturing, so I know that the strategy has to change with the industry, search intent and buying journey.

How much should you spend on paid advertising?

₹8,000–₹10,000

Paid advertising can generate faster visibility, but don’t put your entire budget into ads before fixing your landing page, offer and tracking.

Depending on your business, this could mean Google Ads, Meta Ads or a combination of both.

The objective isn’t simply getting clicks. You need to track leads, enquiries, purchases and cost per acquisition.

My portfolio includes paid campaigns for education, hospitality, wellness and events, which reinforces one important lesson: the platform and budget should follow the business objective—not the other way around.

How much should you spend on content and social media?

₹4,000–₹5,000

Content helps build trust before someone buys.

Instead of chasing daily posts, create content around customer questions, objections, use cases, proof, offers and behind-the-scenes information.

Your content should support both organic discovery and paid campaigns.

How much should you keep for testing?

₹2,000–₹5,000

Keep a portion of your budget flexible.

Test a new audience, landing page, content format, keyword group or campaign before committing more money.

Marketing involves experimentation. Your first strategy doesn’t have to be perfect—it needs to produce enough data to make the next decision smarter.

Is ₹25,000 enough for small business marketing?

Yes, but only if you prioritise instead of trying everything.

For one business, ₹10,000 in SEO and ₹10,000 in Google Ads may make sense. For another, local SEO, content and Meta Ads may be more appropriate.

Your marketing budget should follow your business funnel, customer behaviour and current bottleneck.

The Bottom Line

Don’t ask, “Where should I spend ₹25,000?”

Ask, “What is stopping my business from growing right now?”

Then allocate your money towards solving that problem.

Because good marketing isn’t about spending more.

It’s about knowing where the next ₹1 should go.
